Mardee Goff is an art advisor, curator, and writer with over 15 years of experience in the contemporary art world. Known for her ability to bring complex, ambitious projects to life, Mardee has collaborated with artists, museums, galleries, advisory firms, and private collectors across the globe. Her diverse portfolio spans major exhibitions, site-specific installations, institutional gifts and loans, large-scale publications, and collection strategy for both individuals and organizations.
She is currently advising the strategic development, programming, and opening of Cookie Factory — a new private museum transforming a 1940s fortune cookie factory in Denver’s Baker neighborhood into a dynamic platform for contemporary art and cultural exchange. Opening in May 2025, Cookie Factory’s mission is to support site-specific projects by internationally recognized artists rooted in Colorado’s unique landscape and cultural fabric.
Mardee was deeply honored to serve as project manager for The Work of Art: How Something Comes from Nothing, a 3½-year endeavor with author and editor Adam Moss. Published in 2024, the book became a New York Times bestseller and was named one of Barack Obama’s top 10 books of 2024 — a dream project that brought together artists, designers, and thinkers across disciplines to reflect on the creative process.
Mardee began her career in museums and has worked in curatorial departments at leading institutions including the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver Art Museum, National Gallery in London, and the Biennial of the Americas. She has curated more than 35 exhibitions featuring both emerging and established artists and continues to develop special initiatives.
She holds a Master of Arts from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and a BA in Art History from the University of Colorado Boulder. From 2017 to 2019, she was a fellow in the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver’s Animating the Museum program, a two-year initiative designed to activate institutional spaces through innovative curatorial practice. She is also an alum of the renowned Peggy Guggenheim Collection internship program in Venice (2009) — one of her favorite experiences to date, especially as her time coincided with the 53rd Venice Biennale, during which the Guggenheim Foundation managed the U.S. Pavilion and presented Bruce Nauman’s Topological Gardens.
